Modern ‘Atari Arcade’ Experience Features Fresh Graphics, Social Connectivity and Tablet Touch Gameplay, Play Now for Free at Atari.com
LOS ANGELES – Aug. 30, 2012 - Atari, one of the world’s most recognized publishers and developers of interactive entertainment, today announced a partnership with Internet Explorer to launch the Atari Arcade. The browser-based portal is a next-generation collection of Atari’s classic games reimagined in HTML5 with fresh graphics, gameplay and integration with Facebook and Twitter. Atari Arcade shines in Internet Explorer, but also works well in other modern browsers. Because of the quality of the IE experience, an ad-free version is made available to all Internet Explorer customers when they play Atari Arcade.
In celebration of Atari’s 40 year anniversary and the upcoming launch of Internet Explorer 10, classic games like Asteroids, Pong, Lunar Lander, Missile Command, Centipede, and others have been developed with new graphics and gameplay features. Like the arcades that first popularized gaming, players can go head-to-head with friends in competitive, real-time battles for high scores and leaderboard placement in the next evolution of Atari fan favorites like Super Breakout and Combat.
“Atari and Microsoft have had a long and successful history on Xbox LIVE and in the digital space,” said Jim Wilson, CEO of Atari. “The reimagined Atari Arcade expands this partnership in a new direction, in keeping with our current digital strategy, making it easier than ever for gamers around the world to access our renowned franchises, through the power and flexibility of an HTML5 based platform.”
“We were excited to work with a gaming legend, Atari, to bring their classic arcade games to life on the web with Internet Explorer,” adds Ryan Gavin, general manager, Internet Explorer. “Atari Arcade demonstrates what’s possible when you couple HTML5 along with a fast and fluid browser that is perfect for touch, which is precisely what you get with Internet Explorer 10. Now together with Internet Explorer and HTML5, we get to see some of our favorite games jump into the next generation of gaming on the web – which is pretty fantastic.”
Atari’s new platform will grant developers access to Create.js, a suite of tools for creating cross-browser, cross-device HTML5 gaming and media experiences. This new offering will give developers a platform to publish and monetize games with the ability to utilize features like Facebook integration.
Attendees at this year’s PAX Prime, taking place Aug. 31 – Sep. 2 in Seattle, will be able to get hands-on experience with the Atari Arcade in Internet Explorer’s booth in the north lobby.
Atari has released a promotional video for the event in which game industry luminaries Nolan Bushnell and Grant Skinner provide their perspective on 40 years of video games and HTML5’s impact on future development. The video may be viewed :

YoYo Games’ First Social Title, Will Support Microtransactions and Multiple Devices via GameMaker: Studio
London, UK – 22nd December 2011 - YoYo Games, the leading portal for user-generated game content, is pleased to announce that Grave Maker, its first ‘true’ social game, is available to demo in beta form on the YoYo Games website. Developed entirely with YoYo Games’ GameMaker platform, Grave Maker runs in HTML5 and will soon be available for web-based Facebook, iOS and Android devices, thanks to easy export functionality in GameMaker: Studio, the upcoming latest version of its widely acclaimed game development framework. A ten level beta demo of Grave Maker is available to try now at: http://yoyogames.com/gravemaker.
Grave Maker is a novel take on the social gaming template, blending several classic Facebook genres into one freemium title. Players take on the role of the grave digger, who has a surprising talent for bringing the recently deceased back to life, much to the enragement of the local townsfolk. With baying crowds knocking on the gates, players must build and manage their graveyards in order to raise an army of the undead capable of fending off the angry townsfolk. Running in HTML5, Grave Maker demonstrates the power and versatility of GameMaker, and, in a first for YoYo Games, Grave Maker will be launched simultaneously on three formats – Facebook, iOS and Android.Grave Maker is truly cross-platform in the most modern sense, with one account for all formats. This means that a game started on Facebook can be picked up on an Android or iOS device and vice versa.
Grave Maker’s cross-platform support is only possible thanks to GameMaker’sHTML5 support and GameMaker: Studio’s easy export pipeline, which allows a single code and asset base to be deployed to a wide range of current devices, platforms and standards. Game Maker: Studio will be launching in early 2012, soon after Grave Maker’s official launch in February 2012.
Stuart Poole, head of publishing, YoYo Games comments: “Grave Maker is a huge project for YoYo Games and in many ways, it represents the culmination of everything we’ve been working towards with the Game Maker package.” He continues, “Grave Maker is every bit a modern social game, but its cross-platform abilities and the power of GameMaker’s HTML5 support means that the player gets the same gameplay experience across all three platforms, with the game in play accessible from any of them, at any time.”
Grave Maker is currently in beta and available to try now at:http://yoyogames.com/gravemaker.

Claritics Delivers Cross-Platform Analytics Solutions for HTML5 Application Developers
Provides developers with a single analytic framework to analyze user behavior and social data for HTML5 apps across Facebook, Android, iOS and other platforms.
Mountain View, CA – October 5, 2011 – Claritics (www.claritics.com), the leading Social Intelligence solution for social and mobile app developers, today announced full HTML5 support for its Social Intelligence Suite™. The release empowers application developers to create rapid adjustments to campaigns, app features and targeted content based on real-time data from HTML5 apps running across a variety of platforms, including Facebook, Android, iOS and others.
“With the rising tide of HTML5 and the number of applications being written in this quickly emerging language, many of our customers were asking to use our analytics for their HTML5 apps,” said Raj Pai, co-founder and CEO of Claritics, Inc. “By providing a single, easy-to-use analytics framework, we’ve empowered HTML5 app developers to quickly analyze and act on real-time data across multiple channels for profitable growth.”
Claritics already provides analytics solutions for social and mobile applications, but today’s announcement marks the first time app developers have had an analytics solution that helps track user behavioral and social interaction data across multiple platforms within a single framework.
By using the Claritics Social Intelligence Suite, HTML5 developers will gain insight into important trends and information such as:
· – Which platforms deliver the most engaged users at the lowest cost of acquisition?
· – How does user behavior differ across multiple platforms and devices?
· – What is the difference in Average Revenue Per User across different platforms?
· – Which content is most or least popular and how does consumption vary by platform?
These insights are crucial to the success of any new application and especially critical when launching an HTML5 app or a game and deciding how best to acquire new users and scale the business using data-driven user acquisition, retention and monetization campaigns.
HTML5 plays an increasingly important role in the application ecosystem because it allows developers to build an app once and deploy it across multiple platforms, enabling end-users to access the app from multiple platforms and devices.
The Claritics Social Intelligence Suite with native HTML5 support is currently available for developers by signing up for a free 30-day trial at www.claritics.com.
Claritics is a social intelligence company that improves user acquisition, engagement and monetization campaigns for social and mobile application developers and online advertisers.
